FAMILY PRAYERS


We look forward with joyful hearts	The shadows of night have again fallen around us in peace
There is not a corruption we have within us	May we view every dark providence'
Whatever Your leadings may be	May we ever regard sin as our greatest trial
We bless You	May we rest in the confident
Enable us to rely on Your guiding arm	We desire to make acknowledgment
We renounce all dependence	May we seek in every providence
May all our duties be gladdened	We rejoice to believe
Sanctify affliction to all in sorrow	We come, acknowledging
Enable us to repose	May we walk in the light
The Lord reigns	We desire anew this night
Every blessing	Through another night
Preserve us	Never for a solitary moment
God of all consolation	O Lord our God
Most Blessed God	It is our desire
Make us like Jesus	O Lord, we desire to draw near
All that we are	Enable us to feel our sins'
Lord, subdue within us	We commend all belonging
Let us live as the expectants	Lord, we mourn over our dullness
O God, we come into Your blessed presence	We take refuge anew at the foot of Your cross
May all worldly thoughts	Fill us with a deep and humbling sense
We approach You	Almighty God, we desire
All our hope is in Jesus	O Lord, our Heavenly Father
What encouragement we have to trust	O Lord, we desire to draw
We adore You	What are our lives
Lord, enable us to manifest	May Your sorrowing people be enabled to trust
Most Blessed God,	We come, poor and needy,
Give us fresh victories	Give us reverential
O God, You are great	Whatever be the sphere
We come anew to You	In Christ we are as secure
How, Lord, shall we come into Your presence	We desire anew to bless and praise You'
May even trials and crosses become easy to us	We often confess with the lip
Known unto You	It is in the name, and trusting in the merits
May our weakness drive us	We pray for all in sorrow
Give us grace to look away	O Lord, we desire to approach the footstool
We come unto You this morning	During the past day
We have nothing of our own	We desire to take Jesus as our pattern
Sanctify sorrow to the sons and daughters of affliction	How unworthy are we to come to Your footstool
Your thoughts are not as man's thoughts	Keep us from pride
Our wishes, our desires	May we be melted
May sin be more dreaded,	Lord, break the world's alluring spell
O Eternal, Everlasting God
