What encouragement we have to trust

What encouragement we have to trust Your love and mercy! We can fear no evil when You are with us.

We rejoice that we are in Your hands; that all that our concerns are at Your disposal.

Enable us to rest, in calm composure, in Your infinite wisdom.

Give us lowliness and gentleness; kindness and unselfishness.

May our own wills be merged in the higher will of our Father in Heaven.

Whatever be the discipline You employ, may we meekly submit to it.

May we watch all Your varied teachings, and get profit and sanctification out of them all.

May they bring us nearer Heaven and nearer You.
