When others wrong us

"A time to be silent" Ecclesiastes 3:7

"But I tell you: Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also." Matthew 5:39

There are times when silence is golden , when victory can be gained only by not answering a word.

Many of the painful quarrels and much of the bitterness of life, would never be known — if we would learn to keep silence when others wrong us .

We may choke back the angry word which flies to our lips. The insults of others can never really harm us.

"When they hurled their insults at Him — He did not retaliate; when He suffered — He made no threats. Instead, He entrusted Himself to Him who judges justly." 1 Peter 2:23
