How you can know that you are saved.
Evidences Indicating One's Salvation
Keep in mind that the lost can at times exhibit one or more of these evidences in the flesh by themselves and still be lost. The devils even believe that Jesus is the Christ, yet they cannot be saved. What we are looking for is a majority of collective evidences indicating your spiritual status. The Apostle John writes in his first epistle that you can be saved and be sure about it. Just look for most of these evidences in your life over the long haul:
1.) If you walk in the light even as Christ is in the light you are born again.
2.) If you can enjoy fellowship with God's family of fellow believers you are born again.
3.) If you have a genuine sense of your own sinfulness, you are born again.
4.) If you live in wilful obedience to God's Word you are born again.
5.) If you are no longer enamoured with what captivates the rest of the world system you are born again.
6.) If you know that God is righteous, you know that everyone who does righteousness is born again, so you have a genuine concern about living right if you are born again.
7.) If you eagerly anticipate the return of the Lord Jesus Christ you are born again.
8.) If you desire to live a godly life and are striving to live in purity you are born again.
9.) If you have a growing freedom from sinful behaviour, you are born again.
10.) If you have a genuine love (care and concern which issues in action) for other believers you are born again.
11.) If you demonstrate your love (care and concern) in word and deed you are born again.
12.) You have the witness of your conscience that you are born again.
13.) If you have the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit of God you are born again.
14.) If you have the ability to distinguish truth from error, and can understand God's Word by the illumination of the Holy Spirit you are born again. 15.) If you confess that Jesus is the Son of God you are born again.
16.) Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born again.
17.) You exhibit overcoming faith which proves that Jesus is the Christ, and that you can win over all things.
18.) When you believe ( trust and rely upon) the promises of God you prove that you are born again.
19.) You trust the purpose of God's Word; for it is so that you may know and continue to believe.
20.) You have a sure understanding from the Son of God regarding your eternal destiny. In other words, you believe that he is able to keep that which you have committed unto him against the day of his return.
