To Be an Integral Part of God's Dwelling Place Forever

Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. . . . (Revelation 3:12—NIV)

This verse caught my eye when I was a young Bible student. I still regard it as a major aspect of the land of promise toward which I am pressing.

What a marvellous destiny to become an essential part of the eternal dwelling place of God. I say essential, because each pillar in God's temple is part of the strength and symmetry of the whole. You could not remove one pillar without doing enormous damage to the temple.

The creating of the eternal house of God, made of living stones, is one of the major topics of the Bible. Jesus Christ is the chief Corner Stone of God's house.

There are many rooms in the Father's house. To be a pillar in this great edifice is a hope of all hopes.

Having attained this high place in God, the saint will never again leave it. How could this be? It is because the house of God is a living tabernacle. It is present wherever we are. Wherever the victorious saint is, this is where the pillar of the temple of God is.
