The loneliest

The loneliest of all human experiences

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death , I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4

The loneliest of all human experiences , is that of dying. Human love cannot go beyond the edge of 'the valley of the shadow death'.

But we need not be alone, even in that deepest of all loneliness, for if we are Christ's redeemed child, we can say, "Yet I am not alone, because my Savior is with me!" When the human hands unclasp us — His hand will clasp ours the more firmly.

When human loved faces fade out — His face will shine above us in all its glorious brightness.

When we must creep out of the bosom of human affection — it will be only into the clasp of the everlasting arms, into the bosom of Christ! Death's loneliness will thus be filled with Divine companionship.

"I have set the LORD continually before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken!" Psalm 16:8
