The Holy Day Calendar

A Prophetic Schedule Book

Most of the world assumes that the "Holy Day" calendar of the Old Testament is a Jewish Calendar, and to a degree it is. However, those of us who want to love and serve the Lord Y'shua with our whole being cannot remain ignorant about the holy day calendar or the attending customs of the Jews. This knowledge is crucial to our understanding the Lord's plan because he keeps a schedule, and he goes by The Book.

Was it merely a coincidence that this age which has become known as a Gentile age began on Shavuot (Pentecost)? You see, although freedom in Christ released us from mandatory observance of the Mosaic Law (Torah observance), we suffer great loss if we refuse to familiarise ourselves with it.

Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard  to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are  a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in  Christ.  Colossians 2:16-17

If you think "the law" has passed away into oblivion, consider how it is so plainly declared that the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) has yet to be fulfilled - and how it relates to the Gentile nations!

Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.  Zechariah 14:16

In fact, I believe none of the holy days are yet passed away, though most if not all have seen some fulfilment in Christ already.

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfil them. 18 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.  Matthew 5:17-19

Based upon what has been fulfilled in the past, a wise and diligent student can learn much about what is yet to come. This has been my assumption in approaching the matter of the Holy Day calendar - what I believe is the Almighty's schedule book of appointments with mankind.
