The Elect:

Today’s burden has to do with God’s elect. The seventeenth chapter of the Gospel of John presents the great jasper wall that divides God’s elect, His family, the royal priesthood, the Body of Christ, from the remainder of mankind.

This does not mean the remainder of mankind is lost. The remainder of mankind, barring those who refuse the Lordship of Jesus Christ, will be saved to the new world of righteousness, becoming the inheritance of the elect, of the royal priesthood.

It is difficult for the members of God’s elect, His saints, to accept the fact that they are not of the world but have been called out of the world in order to fulfil a special Divine role. This idea is not compatible with the philosophy of Humanism that is filling the world of our day and has influenced Christian thinking.

I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. (John 17:14)

America was the last of the great Christian nations. I say "last," because as various secular commentators are pointing out, there now are several diverse religions that claim to be part of America. This is a correct view and it is time the Christian people of America realize this. Otherwise we are going to fret ourselves to death over the events of the future that will be contrary to Christian values.

America and the nations of Europe, formerly Christian countries, can no longer claim that title. Secular values, plus the onslaught of the Muslim religion, are forging to the front with increasing power.

I think it is true that even in the Muslim and Communist countries, the rule of the tyrants will diminish. This will happen because of the commonality of thinking caused by access to the Internet. The people dominated so severely, often women, are discovering there are countries that are not under such oppression.

The people of the world, including the majority of Christians and Muslims, will want peace and material security above all else.

The Antichrist rule is one in which people are in control. Every man is his own god. The political philosophy compatible with such self-determination is Democracy.

Unless I am mistaken, Humanism and Democracy are the wave of the future. These two philosophies, which I think are somewhat synonymous, will be personified in the coming ruler we have termed "Antichrist." He will sponsor "cradle-to-grace" security.

The world cry will be "peace and safety." But it will be an illusion. Talented political leaders by the skilful use of words have the ability to project the vision they desire. People then live in the vision rather than in the desolation surrounding them.

This condition is true today in America. We have been given the vision of a brilliant future while all around us our institutions are weakening.

Christians fret themselves over such issues as abortion (the murder of the innocent), "gay" marriage, and "gay" curricula in public-school classrooms. You may notice that we Americans have elected a president who is a supporter of "abortion rights." You may notice also that "gay" marriage is being legalized in several areas. In addition, the Muslim religion is making astonishing headway in England, formerly a Christian nation.

If we believers step back a little we will realize that our distress comes from our Christian beliefs, not from a rational examination of the "rights of people" in a democratic country.

We may not realize it but we want everyone in America, secularist, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Shintoist, to follow Christian standards. This is not going to happen no matter how much we fret or engage in political activism.

By the way, we are not to fret. We are to remember that the Lord Jesus Christ has been given by the Father authority over all mankind. We are to keep our minds steadfastly on Christ at the right hand of the Father, meditating on things that are joyous, honourable, peaceful, kind, loving, gracious. To fret is to imply that Christ has lost His control of mankind. He has not. Find rest in this fact.

If I am "hearing" correctly, God is permitting the current abominations, which He can stop at any time He chooses, in order to wake up the Christian people of the world. The Spirit of God is searching our hearts, commanding us to confess our sins and turn away from them. In many instances we are not listening. We are not turning away from our own sins, which are multitudinous, but are gasping in dismay at the abominations practiced by worldly people.

I have said that America was the last of the great Christian nations. We may exhaust ourselves trying to resurrect the old American values, but I think it is a losing battle.

Let me suggest that Christ is opening another door. We Christians are now to recognize that God’s elect, the Body of Christ, is worldwide. True saints, although a minority, can be found in every nation. This is our family. We still have a nominal citizenship in the United States, which today is a purveyor around the world of the most despicable moral filth, including the murder of babies.

But we have a citizenship that is not nominal only. It is genuine. It is worldwide. It embraces all mankind. It is eternal. Our citizenship today is in Heaven. It is soon to come to earth as the Lord Jesus Christ descends with His saints and installs the Kingdom of God on the earth.

Jesus prayed that God’s elect, His brothers, may be one in Him in the Father and with one another. The Father always answers Jesus’ prayers. Do you believe that?

This means that one day God’s elect will be recognized by the world as being of God. One day the world will recognize that it is the one true God who has sent Jesus Christ to us, and that the one true God loves His saints as He loves His Son, the Lord Jesus.

It is true that Babylon, organized religion, will gather strength and establish its headquarters on the site of ancient Babylon. It is true that the self-will of man shall bring forth a world leader, the Antichrist.

It is true that Christians, who are not bearing their cross after the Lord Jesus but walking in their self-will, shall work miracles in support of Antichrist.

It is true that the Laodicean churches will continue to stress the rights of people rather than the rights of God.

During this time the United States of America will become a third-class power and the world leadership will move to the East.

What, then, should be the attitude of the fervent disciple of the Lord Jesus? Each one of us must learn to regard every true Christian worldwide as our brother or sister, closer to us than the members of our own country; closer to us than the members of our own family.

We all—every genuine Christian—are destined to become one family in Christ in the Father. If we can do something helpful as our nation slides down into a moral cesspool, then we should ask God to help us make our contribution.

But things are going to grow increasingly corrupt in our country. Therefore we absolutely must get our eyes on the Lord Jesus, not on the antics of Satan. If we continue to contemplate the works of Satan we will damage ourselves spiritually. If we keep our eyes on Jesus we will grow spiritually, and we will be able to bring ourselves and our loved ones safely through the spiritual darkness and resulting Divine judgments that rapidly are engulfing our country.

One last word—It is not impossible that we will have a vicious civil war in America in the not too distant future. The intense moral polarization goes far beyond who is a Republican and who is a Democrat. It is not a political division but a moral division.

I believe Jesus has told me millions of Americans are to be brought into the spirit world. He did not say whether through war, plague, or natural calamity. He has given me some awareness of the spirit world (a very normal, average kind of world actually) to comfort those facing death or those who have lost a loved one. I have written two books about my new awareness, one of which, God's Wonderful World, is now being prepared by Tate Publishing Co. It is not on the market yet. I am working on a third for very young children.

My purpose in writing these books is that people will not be afraid of death, or assume that it is some kind of black hole in which people, especially children, disappear. There are animals of all sorts, and many children to play with.

So please recognize you are one of God’s elect, if you are a genuine Christian. Your family, the Body of Christ, is eternal. You will be fine throughout the coming catastrophes if you keep your eyes on Jesus and not on the Divine judgments on your nation. Your home is Mount Zion. You are a member of God’s called-out family. Your citizenship is in Heaven and some day will come to the earth with the Lord Jesus.
