Shocking Devastation

From Abundance to Crisis

Back to 1The Bible’s Greatest Prophecies Unlocked!

At this point in the prophecy, God’s description of His people takes a sharp turn: “And it shall come to pass in that day, says the Lord, that I will cut off your horses [Moffatt: “war horses”] out of the midst of you, and I will destroy your chariots [tanks, ships, aircraft, missiles]: and I will cut off the cities of your land, and throw down all your strongholds [military bases]” (Mic 5:10-11). Since God says He controls the outcome of war (Psa. 33:10-19), have no doubt that He will fulfill this prophecy.

Men now often speak of “disarming” terrorists, rogue dictators and their nations. This passage is God’s promise to literally disarm His own people. Micah explains why: “And I will cut off witchcrafts out of your hand; and you shall have no more soothsayers: your graven images [idols] also will I cut off, and your standing images [idols] out of the midst of you; and you shall no more worship the work of your hands. And I will pluck up your groves [places of false worship in ancient Israel and today] out of the midst of you: so will I destroy your cities” (Mic 5:12-14).

God is tired of looking at modern “churchianity,” which condones rank idolatry, spawns soothsayers (false ministers), condones sexual perversion and tolerates now widespread abominable witchcraft. These modern soothsayers should have thundered from their pulpits that if God’s Law continues to be broken, the penalty is that the country doing this will also be “broken” as a natural consequence.

These deceitful false teachers defaulted in their responsibility, choosing to protect themselves instead.

“Behind the Scenes”
We saw that a European power bloc—the “Holy Roman Empire,” a political system ruled by religion—is taking shape in Europe today away from the world’s focus. A European constitution is being drawn up and its new currency is already in circulation. It is evolving a system of courts and laws, to be governed by a parliament guided by an elected president. Having endorsed its birth, the Vatican has appealed to this developing system for the inclusion of “Christian roots” in its future constitution. Germany is already leading the push for such “Christian inclusion.” Shortly, a charismatic super-dictator will come to power over 10 other kings (leaders) within this union.

This religious-political combine will have its own army—and this army will eventually unleash World War III. At the heart of the military machinery of the forming European Union will be modern Germany—which we saw history reveals to be none other than the ancient Assyrian people. We also learned that these people migrated to central Europe, transporting with them many of the ancient Israelitish people they had taken into slavery starting in 721 BC. Space does not permit detailed evidence of the record of Germany’s identity, but history emphatically proves it. The details are many. History also demonstrates that the modern Italians are the ancient Babylonians, often called the Chaldeans, who themselves migrated west to that peninsula. The proofs are many.

The world will one day stand shocked to learn that these two peoples, more than any other, have directly promoted the Babylonian (and Assyrian) Mystery Religion, which has merely appropriated the name of Christ. It was this system that turned “grace into lasciviousness [license]” (Jude 4) and deceived the whole world into believing it to be the true Church of God, the “woman” of Revelation 12:1-17, instead of the one of chapter 17.

The world will stand in stark wonderment and absolute astonishment at how this great Gentile “woman” church has bamboozled the people of national Israel—America and Britain—into believing that they also are Gentile nations!

God’s Controversy with Israel
Let’s carefully read this long and revealing passage in Hosea. It opens describing God talking to Israel while she is in slavery, but then at a point she is ready to hear His instruction: “Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her. And I will give her her vineyards from there, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt. And it shall be at that day, says the Lord, that you shall call Me Ishi [my Husband]; and shall call Me no more Baali. For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name.

And in that day will I make a covenant [the New Covenant] for them…And I will betroth you unto Me forever…in righteousness, and in judgment, and in loving kindness, and in mercies. I will even betroth you unto Me in faithfulness: and you shall know the Lord. And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, says the Lord…and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not My people, you are My people; and they shall say, You are my God” (Hosea 2:14-23).

The context of God’s present statement and final message to Israel picks up at the outset of chapter 4: “Hear the word of the Lord, you children of Israel: for the Lord has a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood touches blood. Therefore shall the land mournand every one that dwells therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yes, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away” (Hosea 4:1-3). This passage speaks of Britain, America and other Western nations, as well as their lands and the awful conditions of all inhabitants, human and animal.

The next few verses are directed specifically to the ministers of churches throughout America and Britain. Here was God’s blunt message to them about the cause of the appalling conditions and lack of character described above: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you shall be no priest to Me: seeing you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children. As they were increased, so they sinned against Me: therefore will I change their glory into shame” (Hosea 4:6-7).

These nations have rejected God. Therefore, all attempts to solve America’s problems through politics by restoring “constitutional-based government” or “taking back Washington” or “changing the party in charge” or “getting out the vote” will fail. And all attempts to rid the nation of its evils by returning to “sound fiscal policy” or “cutting taxes” or “restoring capitalism” or “reducing the debt” or “creating jobs” or “redistributing the wealth” or “changing laws” will also fail in the end—and abysmally! Addressing a host of bad effects, while ignoring the true cause of America’s and Britain’s troubles, could never yield real and permanent success.

Israel’s Punishment Executed
Grim passages in the Old Testament describing what is to come on the modern-day house of Israel give shape and depth to the events (the first six seals) foretold throughout Revelation 6:1-17.

Ezekiel prophesied the forms of punishment on modern Israel. God pulls no punches: “Thus says the Lord God; This is Jerusalem: I have set it in the midst of the nations and countries that are round about her. And she has changed My judgments into wickedness more than the [Gentile] nations, and My statutes more than the countries that are round about her: for they have refused My judgments and My statutes, they have not walked in them” (Eze 5:5-6).

Continue reading: “Therefore thus says the Lord God; Because you multiplied more than the nations that are round about you, and have not walked in My statutes, neither have kept My judgments, neither have done according to the judgments of the nations that are round about you…Behold, I, even I, am against you, and will execute judgments in the midst of you in the sight of the nations” (Eze 5:7-8).

It will be due to disobedience that these peoples in particular will suffer from war, famine and disease. We saw God’s Word was most specific: “A third part of you shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of you: and a third part shall fall by the sword round about you” (Eze 5:12).

Get this picture in mind a final time. One third dead from war in the West! Another third from famine and pestilence! (Occurring at the outset of the Tribulation, these would possibly be counted among the “fourth part” of humanity who perish before the Tribulation—the fifth seal. But they could be 400 million deaths on top of the fourth.)

Do not think these events are already past. This account is not describing ancient Israel! Neither Israel then nor the tiny Mediterranean nation of Israel today have been “multiplied more than the nations that are round about” them. Its citizens have always been relatively few in number! Therefore, this passage cannot apply to them. It represents a people much, much bigger.

Eze 5:9 continues with how God plans to “do in you that which I have not done, and whereunto I will not do any more the like, because of all your abominations.”

Think. If Jerusalem had gone through any punishment unto which God had “not done” before and “will not do any more the like,” would not it be well-known in history? Imagine the worst period of war, famine and disease of all time! These events would certainly be detailed in history books. Yet they are not.

So what nations fit this profile? They must be “multiplied more than the nations that are [a]round” them. Indeed, if a country is speeding toward the worst period of war, famine and disease ever, it is vitally important that its inhabitants know the words of Ezekiel apply to them. It is crucial they know what is coming!

Through examination of Israel’s fate, and why punishment will come, we are setting up the thinking in God’s mind—which in turn sets the table for powerful understanding. This means briefly looking backward before looking forward at what is coming on Israel—and then the world.
