Overcoming Evil With Good

Overcoming Evil With Good

"And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world" ( Revelation 13:8). The majority of the earth has worshipped and is worshipping the beast. The only ones who have not worshipped the beast are those whose names are written in the book of life, only those who haven’t followed after the beastly system because they realise what it is. They have discernment to see it’s the devil. "If any man have an ear, let him hear" ( Revelation 13:9).

Whenever this phrase appears in Scripture it means we’re going to have to listen with spiritual ears. What’s being taught is not something literal, so we won’t understand it unless our spiritual ears are open. "He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword" ( Revelation 13:10). This tells us that those who do battle with the flesh are going to lose. We cannot fight a spiritual enemy with fleshly tools. If we take the sword, we’ll be killed with the sword.

If we try to deal with the devil in the flesh, it will simply cause us more problems. We reap what we sow ( Galatians 6: 7). "Here is the patience and the faith of the saints" ( Revelation 13: 10). We overcome the problems in our lives through faith and perseverance, not through fleshly means, not through the sword, not through taking things into our own hands, not through using the world’s system. We overcome through faith and perseverance. Romans 12: 21 says, "Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good."
