Open Door, Then Slammed Shut

Back to 1The Bible’s Greatest Prophecies Unlocked!

We now combine all of this knowledge with Revelation 3:1-22, where Jesus makes a special promise: “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; these things says He [Christ] that is holy…He that opens, and no man shuts; and shuts, and no man opens…behold, I have set before you an open door, and no man can shut it…” (Rev 3:7-8).

Grasp this! This open door refers to the Work that God’s Church must carry out. It is by God’s power that this special effort is being carried out.

Satan can read the Bible. He knows the last chapter of God’s Work is prophesied to be the most powerful in history, and he will stop at nothing to impede, cripple, hamper, oppose and obstruct it. The devil hates the message being announced because it describes the day he will be bound and replaced as the god of this world.

Once the open door God has given His Work is shut, the famine of the Word, described in Amos 8:11 and covered in greater detail later, will suddenly settle over the nations of Israel. This will come because the Church’s duty—its God-ordained responsibility—has been completed. The fulfillment of Matthew 24:14 and 28:19-20 will be finished! God’s kingdom will be imminent.

The announcement and warning will pass to two special servants…
