My Inheritance

My Father’s will is that if I look to the Son and believe in him, I shall have eternal life, and I will be raised up at the last day.

I praise my God and Father and my Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given me new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade — kept in heaven for me, who through faith am shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. Here is a trustworthy saying: if I died with him I will also live with him if I endure, I will also reign with him. If I disown him, he also will disown me; if I am faithless he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself.

As in Adam l die, so in Christ l am made alive. Now l am a child of God and what I will be has not yet been made known. But I know that when he appears I shall be like him, for I shall see him as he is. When Christ who is my life appears, then I also will appear with him in glory. Christ was sacrificed once to take away my sins; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to me and others who are waiting for him.

And surely you will be with me always, to the very end of the age. Never will you leave me; never will you forsake me. So I can say with confidence, I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?

I am to be joyful always; to pray continually; I am to give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for me in Christ Jesus.

Through Jesus, therefore, I will continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise — the fruit of lips that confess his name. And I will not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
