Made Holy

This is love, not that I loved God but that he loved me and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for my sins. For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous to bring me to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit. When I turned to the Lord the veil separating me from God was taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is free dom.

He too shared in my humanity, so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death - that is, the devil -and free me from being held in slavery by the fear of death. He entered heaven itself, now to appear for me in God's presence. He is able to save me completely because I have come to God through him, and he always lives to intercede for me. Such a high priest meets my need, one who is holy, blame less, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heav ens.

Jesus suffered to make me holy through his own blood. By his will I have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. By one sacrifice he has made perfect for ever those who are being made holy, including me! I was washed, I was sanctified, I was justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of my God.

For God has brought me into union with Christ Jesus, and God has made Christ to be my wisdom. By him I am put right with God - I become one of God's holy people and am set free. I am sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and mine.

In him I am being built together with others to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. In Christ I form one body with the other members, and I belong to all the other members.
