Loving Others

Though I have not seen him, I love him; and even though I do not see him now, I believe in him and am filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy. Now that I have purified myself by obeying the truth so that I have sincere love for my brothers, I love others deeply, from the heart.

I live in harmony with others; I am sympathetic, I love as a brother, I am compassionate and humble. Above all, I love others deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

If I obey his word, God's love is truly made complete in me.

How great is the love the Father has lavished on me, that I should be called a child of God! And that is what I am! The reason the world does not know me is that it did not know him. I know that I have passed from death to life, because I love my brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death.

This is how I know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for me. And I ought to lay down my life for my brothers.

If I have material possessions and see my brother in need but have no pity on him, how can the love of God be in me? I do not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love others as he commanded me.

This is love: not that I loved God, but that he loved me and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for my sins. Since God so loved me, I also ought to love others. If I love others, God lives in me and his love is made complete in me. lam to love others, for love comes from God.

Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
