{Netz,} Arabic {naz,} Latin {nisus,} the hawk, so called from {natzah,} to shoot away, fly, because of the rapidity of its flight.

It probably comprehends various species of the falcon family, as the ger-falcon, goshawk, and sparrowhawk.
