Jesus would descend from the tribe of Judah

Prophecy: "The sceptre or leadership shall not depart from Judah , nor the ruler's staff from between his feet until Shiloh (the Messiah, the Peaceful One) comes to Whom it belongs, and to Him shall be the obedience of the people" (Genesis 49:10).

"But he chose the tribe of Judah , Mount Zion , which he loved" (Psalm 78:68 NIV).

Fulfilment: "...which was the son of Judah " (Luke 3:33).

"For it is obvious that our Lord sprang from the tribe of Judah ..." (Hebrews 7:14).

"See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah ...has won--has overcome and conquered!" (Rev 5:5)
