Jesus would descend from David and rule on his throne.

Prophecy: "And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots; and the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him" (Isaiah 11:1-2).

"Once for all I have sworn by My Holiness that cannot be violated, I will not lie to David: His offspring shall endure forever, and his throne (shall continue) as the sun before Me" (Psalm 89:35-36).

"Of the increase of His government and of peace, there shall be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that latter time forth, even for evermore.

The zeal of the Lord of Hosts will perform this" (Isaiah 9:7)

Fulfilment: " A record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ the Son of David..." (Matthew 1:1).

"The Lord God shall give unto to Him the throne of his father, David" (Luke 1:32).

"I am the root and the offspring of David" (Rev 22:16).
