In Your Darkest Hour, God Still Has Your Back

Remember the story of footsteps in the sand: when you see only one set of footprints, God is carrying you

Addiction is a dark and lonely place to be. You probably wonder how it came to this and even more importantly, how it is going to end. Out of all of the artillery that is made available to you, it is important to know that as Christians we have the only weapon that we need to turn our lives around, Him. When you are at your darkest hour and your lowest point try to remember these words:

“He never promised that the cross would not be heavy and that the hill would not be hard to climb. He never promised victory without a fight but that help would always come in time. Remember when you are standing at the valley of decision and the adversary says give in, just hold on, our Lord will show up and he will take you through the fire again.”

While these are some of the lyrics from a popular Christian song, they seem to directly address people when they feel they have no hope or nowhere to turn. It is great news to know that we are not alone and that we have not only some help available but the best help ever. No matter what, God will always have your back.

It is never easy to admit that you have made some bad choices but it is ok because you are human and you did not set to the standard for perfection. However, once you do admit that you need help and you put your faith in a higher being, you will be just fine. This is not to say that you don't have a fight ahead of you because you do. What it does mean is that help is available and you will not be fighting the battle alone.

What has been happening in the past is that you have been putting your faith in drugs or alcohol and it has gotten you in some trouble. Today is the day that this ends and you start a new journey that is certain to result in a better and healthier life. This is sure to be a life that you can be proud of and enjoy to the fullest.

Drug and alcohol abuse is a disease. Fortunately, Christ conquered sickness and disease at the cross. It is hard to understand sometimes but God had made us all promises and sometimes He will make us endure a problem so that we can prosper with the provision. Even the tiniest plant in the ground cannot sprout until it pushes its way through the hard ground.

Stop being lonely and afraid and let the light shine where there was once darkness. Reach out and accept the help from the people who are destined to help you fight your battle. Remember that through Him all things are made possible. Today it is your turn to shine and shine you shall. You are a child of the most high God and from now on you will live like it, walk like it, and talk like it because you are blessed and highly favoured.
