He has given us

He has given us very great and precious promises!

" He has given us very great and precious promises! " 2 Peter 1:4

The words of Christ still have the same power now, as they did when He walked this earth. They are yet . . .

calming spiritual tempests,

opening spiritually blind eyes,

expelling evil spirits,

and raising the spiritually dead.

They are yet giving . . .

comfort to sorrowing ones,

and hope to despairing ones,

and forgiveness to penitents.

They are still . . .

changing hearts,

sweetening bitter fountains, and

making flowers bloom, where only thorns grew before.

If you are weary, or in sorrow, and pillow your head on one of His precious promises — you will find that you are lying on your Father's bosom, close to His warm, beating heart. Our richest treasures today, are the promises of Christ.

"You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the LORD your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed!" Joshua 23:14

"Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are Mine! When you go through deep waters — I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty — you will not drown.

When you walk through the fire of oppression — you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior!" Isaiah 43:1-3
