The spreading influence of religion in the EU can be seen in Germany, where a recent high court ruling mandated that businesses close on Sunday—the first day of the week—as “a day of rest.” (Liberal and conservative newspapers across Germany almost universally heralded the move.) Now recall what was decreed at the Council of Laodicea in AD 363 when Sunday-keeping was enforced by law. Forgotten and lost is that God commanded the seventh day of the week—His Sabbath—be a day of rest—not the first!

The second beast of Revelation 13:1-18 will possess such seductive power and magnetism that it will be able to induce the world to worship the first Beast—the Roman Empire—through extraordinary miracles. These will mesmerize the entire world, deceiving vast millions into worship of both the system and the man leading it.
History will repeat itself! Soon, two men, one a civil leader, the other a religious leader, will revive the Holy Roman Empire in Europe. This power will return the age-old union of church and state. Unmatched, it will tower over every nation like a colossus, dwarfing all rivals—and it will enforce a mark (Rev 13:16) involving direct disobedience to God. Those who fall in step with its edicts—who take its mark—will be temporarily spared, but soon after will be punished terribly by God. Most who refuse the mark will be horribly persecuted, tortured and put to death.
A few faithful, of God’s people, escape!
Remember. British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, returning from his infamous meeting with Adolf Hitler in 1939, declared, “Peace in our time.” Instead, World War II quickly followed. The comings uper power will proclaim the same thing—but will bring horrific destruction. Its attempt to institute a “world political authority” will at first succeed—but ultimately fail, meeting a bitter end described in Revelation 18:1-24.
The days of man’s misrule upon the earth—and of false religions deceitfully masquerading as being of God—will finally be over. Peace, justice, happiness and abundance will come at last to a world in desperate need of them.
But these things will not come yet.
Time Is Almost Up!
The final Beast of Revelation, ridden by the great whore of chapter 17, will soon explode onto the world scene. No one will be expecting this truly “thief in the night” moment. The sudden joint appearance of these in union will signal without warning that everything will now be different. The Beast and whore’s arrival and surrounding events will come “as a snare … on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth” (Luke 21:35). The message? This event will pierce world “tranquility” without notice.
The whore is already suggesting that her wayward, protesting “harlot daughter” churches stop squabbling and disagreeing. Seeking submission, she will soon command them to “return home now!” False, but real, miracles will reinforce her command. They will obey!
Only a few years remain before the False Prophet gives the chilling instruction to “saddle up” the Beast for its final ride into awesome, frightening prophecies that will leave all nations of Earth in shocked amazement—and the modern nations of Israel in captivity, their lands destroyed.
This religious-political-economic-military system will take a defeated Israel into the “bitterness,” “rigor” and “affliction” of hard labor under the Beast’s brutal slave masters, exactly as came upon ancient Israel under Pharaoh (Ex. 1:13-14; 2:23; 3:7).
The Beast’s ride will also take the great whore directly into the lives of all who thought there was more time—who did not take seriously the truth of prophecy. These will be desperately sorry—and even more desperately wishing they could have another chance to make the right decision.
But it will be too late!—much too late!
As in centuries past, the Revelation 17:1-18 “woman” today sits poised like an attentive midwife on a stool before a pregnant mother Europe ready for delivery, waiting to “catch” a much needed civil ruler.
Evidence suggests Europe’s “water” is about to “break.”
So Few…
No one else is explaining the truth about what lies ahead—and no one else will! This long book pulled no punches. In fact, how could it have been stronger? It has asked and answered many questions, but the greatest is the final one.
How many will apply its contents?
It is now time to repeat an observation from Chapter One: It has been my almost 45-year experience in the truth that most people will not listen to God’s words. They cannot make themselves take seriously even His plainest commands, instructions and warnings.
There are exceptions...
