Christ would be hid from a gaping crowd by darkness.

Prophecy: "And in that day, says the Lord God, I will cause the sun to go down at noon , and I will darken the earth in the broad daylight time" (Amos 8:9).

Fulfilment: "Now from the sixth hour ( noon ) there was darkness over the all the land until the ninth hour ( three o'clock )" (Matthew 27:45).
