This teaches that Christ died not only to save sinners under the new covenant, but under the old covenant as well (CP Ac 17:30-31; Ro 3:24-25; 1Jn 2:2).
Everyone who took part in the sacrificial system under the old covenant was vindicated by the sacrificial death of Jesus under the new covenant.
