3 What was the pattern of the life of the prophet Elijah?

The pattern was that of one man (representing a small remnant of Israel—Romans 11:2-5) bearing on himself a powerful anointing of the Holy Spirit while the majority of the nation was living in worldliness, lust, and self-seeking.

When Elijah was caught up to Heaven his mantle was picked up by another prophet, Elisha. The record shows that Elisha worked more miracles than did Elijah. Why was this?

It was because a double portion of Elijah’s spirit rested on Elisha. Elisha was Elijah multiplied by two. Does this signify to us that the Spirit of prophecy announcing the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ will be twice as powerful as that which bore witness to His resurrection from the dead?

The Holy Place of the Tabernacle of the Congregation is a type of the Church Age. The Holy Place was two thousand cubic cubits in volume representing the two thousand years of the Church Age.

The Most Holy Place of the Tabernacle is a type of the Kingdom Age, the thousand-year Kingdom Age of the rule of Christ and His saints over the nations of the earth. The Most Holy Place was one thousand cubic cubits in volume, portraying the one thousand years of the Kingdom Age.

The two parts of the linen curtain, and of the goats’ hair curtain, were coupled together over the veil, over the place where the Holy Place joined the Most Holy Place.

The linen curtain was joined together by fifty rings of gold. The next covering of the Tabernacle, the goat’s hair curtain, was joined together by fifty rings of bronze. Two sets of fifty rings.

The number fifty symbolizes Pentecost. Gold symbolizes Divinity. Bronze symbolizes judgement.

The meaning is, during the period of time just before the coming of the Lord there will be a doubled Pentecost. Doubled Divinity will be present and also doubled judgement.

The latter-rain outpouring of the Holy Spirit will contain the Presence of God in an unusual way, and also be characterized by works of judgment. The golden lamp stands of Revelation, Chapter 11 symbolize the gold of God’s Presence. The two witnesses perform works of judgement.

The Presence of God indeed will come to the earth in the latter-rain (two witness) revival. Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth. (Hosea 6:3)
