3:15 What does Peter mean by what he says here?
Peter is admonishing believers here to reverence Christ as Lord over every facet of their daily lives and to always be ready to testify, gently and respectfully, to anyone who asks, of the hope they have in Christ. (cp Psa 119:46; Col 4:6).
1Pe 3:15 applies primarily to times when believers are persecuted for their faith, but it is also applicable to everyday life (cp 2Ti 2:24-26).
Believers must never be found wanting in their witness to God's saving grace (cp Jn 4:35-36; 2Cor 6:2).
