The Jews. They were expecting Him - and still are - but when He came, they rejected Him.
They did not believe He was their Messiah, although He fulfilled all the Old Testament prophecies (see author's studies Jesus, and Old Testament Messianic Prophecies - their New Testament Fulfilment in his book Advanced Studies in the Christian Faith (Volume 2)).
