11:1-3 Who were those "of the circumcision" that contended with Peter here?
These were Jewish Christians who were still bound to their old way of thinking that it was wrong for Jews to enter into Gentile's houses and eat with them. Prior to God sending him to Cornelius, Peter thought like this too (CP Ac 10:9-20, 28-29).
Ac 11:1-3 is further proof that Peter had no supremacy over anyone else in the New Testament church (See also comments on Mt 16:13-18, 16:19, Ga 2:11-17).
