The just are those whom God has justified upon the basis of, and in answer to, their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Many of the Hebrew Christians were abandoning their faith in Christ to save them, and were going back to the Old Testament sacrificial system.
This is to warn them, and by extension, us too, that it is only by remaining in Christ that one can be saved (CP V22-39; Ac 10:43; 13:38-39; Ro 1:16-17; 3:19-26; 5:1, 6-11; 2Cor 5:21; Ga 3:11; Eph 1:6-7; 2:1-9).
