1.The Identity of The WORD

"He that rejecteth Me, and receiveth not My WORDS, hath One that judgeth him: the WORD that I have spoken, The Same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father which sent Me, He gave Me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that His commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak" John 12:48-50.

a. John 1:1-2: "In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with God, and the WORD was God." The Trinity, the Godhead, is One GOD. Even so is GOD united in One WORD. The WORD is GOD, and GOD is His WORD.

b. Revelations 19:13: "His name is called The WORD of God." GOD's own WORD is a Name He is known by. The LORD is not only the person, "The WORD", but His own name is "The WORD".

c. John 1:14: "And the WORD was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the Only Begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." God, The WORD, The Son of the Father, was born in flesh, and lived in our midst.

d. 1John 1:1-2: "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the WORD of Life; (for the Life was manifested, and we have seen It, and bear witness, and show unto you that Eternal Life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us)."

Many who make excuses, say God is unknowable. They say you can't know what you can't see. Christ Jesus, The WORD, did live on this earth, and many who saw Him, and talked with Him, who heard Him with their ears, who embraced Him, have left us a witness of Him, written with human hands, but inspired by His own Spirit. And as we read this living, breathing WORD, we also hear Him, handle Him, look upon Him. In fact, this WORD of Life is the Eternal One who breathes His life into us. We do hear Him. We do see Him. And there is no one, in this whole world, past, present, or future, who can convince us otherwise. Why? Because we KNOW Him. We have spent time with Him. He abides with us and in us. The LORD is more real to His people, than persons are, who can be seen by sight.

2Timothy 1:12: "For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know Whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day."

John 20:29: "Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen Me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed." 1Peter 1:8: "Whom having not seen, ye love; in Whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory."

Ephesians 3:16-19: "That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God."

e. John 5:38: "And ye have not His WORD abiding in you: for whom He hath sent, Him ye believe not."

If a person, who considers himself to be Christian, doesn't believe what he reads in his Bible, then he doesn't believe Jesus The WORD, nor the One who sent Him, The Father, The WORD. And if this person does not believe God, then surely The WORD does not abide in him.

f. Jeremiah 15:16: "Thy WORDS were found, and I did eat them; and Thy WORD was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by Thy name, O LORD God of hosts." This is a Christian. A Christian is one who needs, seeks, and finds the WORD of God. A Christian hungers for, and eagerly eats, the WORD, which then nourishes with joy the one who rejoices being called by His name.

Matthew 4:4: "It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every WORD that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

g. 1Thessalonians 2:13: "For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the WORD of God which ye heard of us, ye received IT not as the word of men, but as IT is in truth, the WORD of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe." The identity of the WORD is God. God gave the WORD. The WORD is God. And the identity of God's people are those who know, and love, The WORD.

Psalm 119:74: "They that fear Thee will be glad when they see me; because I have hoped in Thy WORD."
