"He that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile" (1Peter 3:10). See Psa. 34:12, 13.

"The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment. Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight" (Proverbs 12:19, 22).

"LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? [He that] speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour" (Psalm 15:1-3).
