These four witnesses of Scripture appear to be a contradiction, if we take the "rhema" or letter of these Words. But the "three days and three nights" cannot mean a precise time of 72-hours, for Jesus said, "I will be raised again the THIRD day". That is, within 72-hours. In rabbinical thought, a day and a night make one "onah", and a part of an onah is as the whole. (This is adequately borne out by such Scriptures as 2 Kings 20:29 2 Chronicles 10:5, 2 Chr 10:12 and Esther 4:16; Esther 5:1, which are common approximations wherein a number of days and nights equate so many days. These Scriptures establish that Jesus meant WITHIN three days and nights or part thereof, and on the THIRD day, He must resurrect.

Before we can take any measurements, we must first decide upon a common scale of time. Whereas in the Western world, we calculate our day from midnight to midnight, the Hebrews calculate their day from sunset to sunset. Their "evening" is from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, taking sunset arbitrarily as 6:00pm. So their Saturday night would be our Friday night because their days commence at sunset, so that the evening precedes the morning. Tricky, I know.

Easter - When did Jesus Resurrect

In our first Scripture, Psalm 16:10, the Spirit speaks through His prophet David, as though he were Jesus speaking to God, "You will not leave My soul in hell; neither will You suffer Your Holy One to see corruption". Jesus knew by revelation that He was God's Holy One prophesied by David. And he also knew that corruption sets in to the human body within 72 hours after death. So when the Jews asked in John 2:18-19, "What sign will You show us?" He answered and said, "Destroy this temple, and in THREE days I will raise it up". Jesus knew His part was to die as Adam's near Kinsman to redeem Adam's fallen race, and to be the first-born from the grave. And being familiar with the prophets, He was confident His soul would ascend from the realms of the departed and that God must raise His body within 72-hours before corruption could set it. In our third text, Matthew 12:38-40, "Some scribes and Pharisees asked, 'Master, we would see a sign from You'. But He answered and said, 'An evil and adulterous generation seek after a sign; and there shall be no sign given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah: For as Jonah was THREE days and THREE nights in the fish's belly; so shall the Son of man be THREE days and THREE nights in the heart of the earth'." Taking the FIXED dates and FIXED days provided by Scripture we are going to prove when our Lord's body arose from the grave. Let's quote a fourth witness of Scripture: Matthew 16:20-21, "From the time Jesus acknowledged Peter's revelation of the true Oneness of the godhead which unlocks the Kingdom of heaven in a new birth, He warned His disciples not to share the revelation with outsiders. From then on, Jesus began to speak plainly to them, of how He must go to Jerusalem and suffer at the hands of the Jewish leaders, and be killed, and be raised again the THIRD day".

Matthew 17:23; Mark 9:31 and Luke 24:21 state that He will rise upon the third day). There are so many more FIXES, I feel as if I'm on the yacht, doing some coastwise navigation, and in that manner we'll draw a "cocked hat", and let the Scripture prove by Scripture that we're not lost in its sea of Words. Pin.pngDo you have a ministry or a business

Do you have a called of God ministry where your whole purpose is to "feed the sheep", and God supplies your needs, or do you have books, tapes, videos, etc. that you SELL for a "donation", or just outright SELL, and your buyers supply your needs?

There is nothing wrong with being in business and selling things. However, if you are a church or any kind of "ministry", you may want to check your motive for how you are conducting the work of the Lord.

Remember the money changers in the temple where JESUS turned over the tables and threw them out. They were selling things in the "CHURCH". (God made it quite clear to us that we were not to charge for anything, that HE was our source.)

20 Verses Christianity Ignores! (Part 1)

presented by David C. Pack

Millions of professing Christians assume they are being taught the truths of the Bible. Yet almost no one knows even the most basic teachings of God’s Word. Here are 10 Bible verses Christianity ignores or rejects!

Does God still heal today? Did such miraculous intervention end with Christ and the apostles? Is God now working through medical science? Should Christians ever seek doctors? If so, when—under what circumstances? What about public “faith healers”? Here is the plain truth about healing!

Pin.pngChristians are left with real questions in reference to Islam:

What role if any did the teachings of the Qur'an play in the 9/11 attacks? What does Islam really teach? What about Jihad? Should Christians try to befriend our Muslim neighbors and share the gospel? If so, how? The title is Understanding Islam: A Christian Perspective. I would like you to watch it for free. Please forward this to all your friends!
