Back to Next Part Man's religion & God's religion 2

Sin is an evil so dreadful, so hateful and abhorrent to God's righteous character—so provoking to His justice and holiness, that He could not pardon it unless an atonement were made adequate to its fearful magnitude.

Thousands of rams, and ten thousand rivers of oil could not atone for sin!

Did all men consent to give their first-born for their transgression, the fruit of their body for the sin of their soul—all could not suffice to outweigh the magnitude of sin. Nothing short of the blood of the Son of God could be an atonement of sufficient worth, of equivalent value.
