Chapter 14 The 144,000 and the Victorious Judgment of the Lamb
Christ Jesus, Who is the "LORD of the Harvest" (Luke 10:2), i.e.,"in His hand a sharp sickle" (14:14), is also the "Judge of All the Earth"(Genesis 18:25), to Whom the Father "hath committed all judgment" (John 5:22). Here, the Apostle John is directed to gaze upon a white cloud, and "upon the cloud One sat like unto the Son of Man"(14:14). Painters often depict God surrounded with clouds. "Clouds and darkness are round about Him: Righteousness and Judgment are the habitation of His Throne" (Psalm 97:2). Scripture describes the Almighty as:
(1) the "High and Lofty One That Inhabiteth Eternity" (Isaiah 57:15),
(2)(Psalm 18:10),
(3)"Blessed and Only Potentate, the KING of Kings, and LORD of Lords"(1Timothy 6:15), and
(4)"with clouds; and every eye shall see Him" (Revelation 1:7).</font>
The "golden crown" (14:14) on the head of the LORD Jesus, can only be seen by the eyes of faith, until the time will come that all must admit-- willingly or unwillingly-- that Jesus "ONLY hath immortality, dwelling in the Light which no man can approach unto; Whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to Whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen"</font> (1Timothy 6:16). "9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a Name which is above every name: 10that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in Heaven, and things in Earth, and things under the Earth; 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father" (Philippians 2:9-11).
And another angel came out of the Temple, crying with a loud voice to Him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in Thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for Thee to reap; for the harvest of the Earth is ripe."</font>
