Preface
How can anyone speak of walking without sinning, without being completely out of touch with the human condition? The Son of Man, the LORD Jesus Christ, did exactly that. He said,"Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in Heaven is perfect"(Matthew 5:48). No one can truthfully say that the Sinless Son of God was out of touch with humanity.
"For we have not an High Priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin"(Hebrews 4:15). But, it may be said, Jesus lived a sinless life on earth because He was the Son of God,
"who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth"(1Peter 2:22). That is certainly true; however, could we be neglecting the fact that what He accomplished by becoming a man was to prove that a human being-- by the power of God-- could actually walk without sinning?
"Wherefore in all things it behoved Him to be made like unto His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people"(Hebrews 2:17). Jesus came as the
"the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world"(John 1:29). By living a sinless life, the LORD Jesus vindicated the Creator's Wisdom in designing man as a free moral agent.
"O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!"(Romans 11:33). Our Wonderful LORD left us THE example of how to walk without sinning.
"For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps"(1Peter 2:21).
