Eph 2:20 (B) What is meant by Jesus being the "chief corner stone"?

The chief corner stone is the stone set in the corner of the foundations of a building by which the whole building is squared. It also gives strength to the two walls by which they are connected.

In Eph 2:20 it is applied figuratively to Christ who not only sustains the whole structure of the church, but also unites Jews and Gentiles into one mystical building (CP V21-22; 1Cor 3:9-11; 1Pe 2:5-7 with Psa 118:22; Isa 28:16; Mt 21:42; Ac 4:10-12).
