Walking in the spirit is not a mystical exercise in which one falls into some kind of a trance as some think. It simply means walking in conformity with God's word.
If we order our manner of life according to God's word we are yielded to the Holy Spirit and will not yield to fleshly desires (cp Mk 7:14-16 with Ro 8:5-14; Eph 4:20-32; Col 3:1-11).
