Nature in this context means native sense of propriety; the natural sense of what is right and proper (CP Ro 2:14).

Shame in 1Cor 11:14 means dishonour, ignominy, disgrace. What Paul is in effect saying in 1Cor 11:14 is that our own natural sense of what is right and proper tells us that it is dishonouring to a man to have long hair like a woman's.

Long flowing locks are a woman's glory, but they degrade a man (CP 1Cor 11:15).
