Two witnesses will prepare the world for the coming of the Kingdom of God. The two witnesses are Christ and His victorious saints. They will be anointed with a double portion of the Holy Spirit, the two "olive trees." The two olive trees speak symbolically of the "two anointed ones who are standing by the Lord the whole earth." These are Elijah and Elisha.

(11/26/2-006) The eleventh chapter of the Book of Revelation does not tell us what the message of the two witnesses will be. However, we know from the twenty-fourth chapter of the Book of Matthew that they will preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God to every nation as a witness.

The Gospel of the Kingdom is being preached today, instead of the gospel of Heaven. By this we know that the days of the seventh trumpet, the era of the two witnesses, has commenced.

The Book of Malachi tells us of a special aspect of the message of the two witnesses. Remember, Christ and His saints will be anointed with the spirit of Elijah, as well as that of Elisha. Malachi tells us that Elijah will turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the hearts of the children to their parents."

As part of our American culture we have what is known as a "generation gap." The "generation gap" means that the youth of our country are deriving their values, attitudes, and approval from people of their own age rather than from older people. This "gap" comes from Satan.

By separating the youth from their parents and elders, Satan hopes to lead them to moral, physical, and emotional destruction. He is succeeding in this, as we notice the "freak" dancing in the high-school proms, in "My Space" on the Internet, and in the willingness of young people to be led into error by the teachers of evolution and promoters of homosexual behavior.

Notice, in Malachi, that first the hearts of the parents must be turned to their children. The nature of the American culture is such that the parents are consumed with the problem of making enough money to pursue the "American dream." There often is not enough time, strength, or desire to sit down each day and hear about how school went, troubles with the boyfriend or girlfriend, or some other issue which may bore the adult but is central in the thinking of the young person.

Also, the adults often are too proud to admit that they have been unjust in their demands or incorrect in their conclusions. If the heart of the adult is to be turned to the young person, and the young person to the adult, each must be willing to admit when he is wrong. Each must be reasonable, recognizing that God wants the family unified.

Extremely difficult times are coming to the United States. Soon it will not be like it is today, where families are busily occupied with Christmas presents and with deciding whether to have turkey or ham for the Christmas meal. When the day of trouble arrives, only true disciples of the Lord Jesus will be able to survive spiritually, and perhaps physically, and be able to assist other people.

The young person who decides to be a disciple of the Lord Jesus must derive his or her values, attitudes, and approval from Christ, from his or her parents, and from the elders of his or her church. Sometimes parents are not as approachable as could be desired. In that instance the youngster must find Christ for himself or herself and walk with Him.

The Lord Jesus Christ has sent the spirit of Elijah, the spirit of power and prophecy, to the American family today. Christ is demanding that the parents return to their children and the children to their parents. This is going to require trust, love, patience, understanding, and humility on the part of both parents and children. We cannot afford any longer to be satisfied with a youth culture, within or outside of the church. There is no such thing as a Christian youth culture. This is to make young people an incomprehensible species to which older people cannot relate. It is destructive. It is of Satan.

We cannot correct all Christian families, but we can ask God to help us with our own family. Some Christian adults dominate their children, slapping them when they try to speak their mind, or driving them from the house when they disapprove of what the young person is doing or saying. This behavior has got to stop! No one is benefited, ordinarily, when the youngster is slapped or driven from the house. If this takes place, the young person will turn to people his own age for counsel, and that counsel most likely will be destructive.

We adults are busy making a living so we can support our family. But we may be so busy our young people are being destroyed while we are endeavoring to support them.

It absolutely is imperative that each parent learn what his child is doing on the Internet, with "My Space" or on a chat room. We might think of this as silly, boring, or beneath our dignity. But the Internet may be where your child is getting his or her values. It is your responsibility to find out what your youngster is doing on the Internet, and everywhere else. To not find out is to turn your child over to Satan, to the destroyer.

"Turn the hearts of the parents to their children." This is the Lord's command for the days prior to His return.

At night I spoke about John 14:1-6. This may be the best known of all New Testament passages, and the least understood.

Christ was a carpenter, but He is not building fancy houses for us in Heaven. Christ Himself is the House of God. In Him there are many rooms. He wants us to be with Him where He always is, that is, at the right hand of the Father.

If one will read John 14:2-23 he will discover that the subject of this chapter is not the second coming of Christ in the clouds of Heaven. Rather it is about Christ coming to make His home in the saint, bringing His Father with Him.

As Paul tells us, because our life now is hidden with Christ in God at the right hand of the Father, we must place our affections, our interests, our hopes, our desires, our treasures, our dreams, our attention, in the heavenlies with Christ.

When we truly receive Christ as our Lord and Savior, not just going through a religious formula, our new born-again inner nature is raised in Christ and seated with Him at the Father's right hand, on the very highest of all thrones. This is our position for eternity. From then on, Satan will employ every device know to him to pull us down from our high place in God, just as Sanballat attempted to call down Nehemiah from the wall.

In the days in which we live, only the most resolute disciple will be able to maintain his place in Christ at God's right hand. Every conceivable temptation, threat, and perversity will be brought against us so we will step down and live as a fleshly human being in the present world rather than as a son of God who has been raised with Christ.

Some of the highest ranks in the Kingdom have been reserved for the last days, because it is in the present hour, as Antichrist increasingly becomes manifest, that God's heroes of faith will fight through to total victory.

You can be one of those who bear the double portion of anointing and bear witness during the closing days of the Church Age, meanwhile maintaining your place at God's right hand until Christ has been fully formed in you. You can do it, whether you are young or old. Christ will bring you to total victory, but you must deny yourself each day, bear your personal cross faithfully and patiently, and obey Christ sternly throughout each day and night.

Will you do it? Christ, and a multitude of people, some not born as yet, will be affected by your decision!
