Contradiction #6

"We all have free will." (23 Minutes, p. 78) Vs.

"For it is GOD which works in you both TO WILL AND TO DO of His good pleasure" (Phil. 2:13).

We all have a will and we make millions of choices, but all of them are caused by something, and therefore are not "free" from causality. No one has FREE-will/FREE choices. And anything that is "caused" to happen must happen, and is therefore not free to not happen.

It's all unscriptural Christian nonsense, this thing of free will/choice; free moral agency; uncaused choices.

It is constantly stated by Christian teachers and theologians that man can at any time, he chooses, repent and turn from his sins without the causal power of God. And he is able to do this because we are told that humans possess an ability called "freedom of the will," or "freedom of choice." Not true. Nonsense.

"Can the Ethiopian change his skin ( NO) , or the leopard his spots ( NO) ? then may ye ( through some fabled 'free will choice') do good, that are accustomed to do evil" (Jer. 13:23).

Can a sinner really decide by himself, without the causal inspiration of God Almighty, to repent? NO.

"Or despise you the riches of His goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?" (Rom. 2:4).

What is it that causes one to repent? His so-called freedom of the will? No. it is "the goodness of God leads you ( 'leads' is the causal factor, not man's phantom 'free' will choice) to repentance."

The above Scripture plainly states that if one rejects the fact that it is "the goodness of God" which leads one to repentance, then they "DESPISE...the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering." So then, now that I have shown you the truth regarding man's inability to repent independent of the "goodness of God," what are you going to do with this knowledge? Will you accept this truth, or will you "despise" the Word of God?

No, don't just rush off to the next paragraph or next page of this paper-think about it. Will you accept this truth of Scripture or will you "despise" the Word of God? I realize that I have put you into an uncomfortable position. I know that you do not want to think about it. I know that it is a hard thing for most people to give up the philosophical nonsense of this world and its religions doctrines, but here is your opportunity to be set free from such heretical teachings.

"Human Free Will" is the all-sufficing scapegoat for hard philosophical and religious issues. Whenever someone questions the justice or sanity of a god torturing most of the human race in literal fire for all eternity, the answer is: God doesn't do this to anyone. They do it to themselves by the use of their own "free will." This phantom "free will" supposedly gets God off the hook (as though mere mortals have the ability to put God on a hook in the first place) of responsibility and accountability for ever creating such an hellhole of eternal terrorism in the first place.

So once the Church (and the philosophy of most of the entire world) accepts this "free will/uncaused choices" doctrine, then all that remains is justification for creating such an hell of eternal torture as the solution for dealing with those who "free will" themselves into this God-created hell. So what is the "justification" for this hell of eternal torture? Well, according to Christian theologians, the justification for this eternal torture camp is "JUSTICE." God, we are told, must uphold His "justice" at all cost.

Pastor Hagee, that great Bible scholar and theologian (so maybe I josh a little with his credentials), makes 30 statements in his sermon, The Seven Wonders of Hell which he says describe hell. Below is statement #23:

"For ever and ever all you're going to hear are the screams and sobs and suffering for ever and for ever and for ever ... and it's JUSTICE." (CAPS and underline are mine)

Well there you have it-hell is "JUSTICE!" And according to the late Dr. James Kennedy (holder of a half dozen doctoral degrees), "hell is FAIR!" Oh really? Hell is fair and hell is justice? Are they crazy?

Bill uses a story (which I cannot verify) of a supposed Judge who fines his own daughter $25,000 for a speeding. The Judge then pays his daughter's fine of $25,000, and here is the rationale behind the Judge's action: "People wondered what was going on; only later did they find out that the girl was his ( the Judge's) daughter. Even though it was his daughter, the judge still imposed the maximum fine. He had to carry out justice" (23 Minutes in Hell, pp. 76-77).

What if a Judge were to fine someone ten million dollars and life in solitary confinement for his crime? What crime might that be, you ask? Well, let's say the crime was neglecting to honor a sign which reads: "DO NOT WALK ON THE GRASS." So you think that maybe "I" am crazy?

Okay then, consider one sin from the 21st Chapter of Revelation which will (according to Christian doctrine, certainly not according to Scriptural doctrine) get one not just a short lifetime in solitary confinement, but rather being tortured for trillions and trillions and trillions and trillions of quadrillions of centuries in the fabled twelve thousand degree fires of hell.

And what sin is it that Christians think deserves such over-the-top insane punishment? Answer:

"But the fearful ( Greek: 'timid') ...shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death" (Rev. 21:8).

This verse is interpreted by theologians to mean: "But the fearful shall be tortured in a literal lake of literal fire, and literal brimstone, which is eternal life in the Christian hell." May God have mercy on their deranged souls!

Does man really have the power and ability to either accept or reject Jesus? Can he, by his own power of will, choose whether to "come to Jesus," or not? No, he can't:

"No man CAN come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw ( Gk: 'drag') him: and I will raise him up at the last day" (John 6:44).

Many Christians despise the Word of God and do not believe the Scriptures:

"For it is God ( Who? Man? NO-'GOD') which works in you both to WILL and to DO of his good pleasure" (Phil. 2:13).

But how many Christians fear to misquote or misinterpret or misrepresent the very Word of God? Rom 9:16:

So then it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy.

I have written over one hundred pages (replete with dozens and dozens of Scriptures) on this subject: See, "The Myth of Free Will Exposed" found in my "Lake of Fire" series near the top of our home page.
