Eph 5:16 What does "redeeming the time" mean?

Time here is not chronos, "time as such"; it is kairos, which refers to season, opportune time, opportunity.

Thus redeeming the time means taking advantage of every opportunity that presents itself for doing God's work; not allowing a suitable moment to pass by unheeded (CP Ga 6:9-10; Col 4:5; 2Ti 4:2; Tit 3:8).

Christians must do the work of God while there is still time; soon it will be too late (CP Jn 4:34-36; 9:4).
