For convenience in arranging the books in our Bible, Paul’s two letters to Timothy have been kept together, followed by his letter to Titus. However, Titus was written some time before 2 Timothy, probably about the same time as 1 Timothy and for much the same reason. The background notes to 1 Timothy provide also the background to Titus, and should be read fully as an introduction to the study of Titus.

BACKGROUND

For convenience in arranging the books in our Bible, Paul’s two letters to Timothy have been kept together, followed by his letter to Titus. However, Titus was written some time before 2 Timothy, probably about the same time as 1 Timothy and for much the same reason. The background notes to 1 Timothy provide also the background to Titus, and should be read fully as an introduction to the study of Titus.
