Abortion Terminology

1. Abortion - the termination of a pregnancy.
2. Cervix - the cone shaped neck of the uterus that extends into the vagina.
3. Conception - the uniting of a sperm and egg. 
4. Dilitation and Extraction, D&X, (Partial Birth Abortion) - the baby is delivered feet first.  The head is left inside the birth canal.  A sharp instrument is used to puncture the rear of the skull at the base and the brains are sucked out.  Once dead, the baby is fully delivered.
5. Dilatation & Curettage (D&C) - Abortive procedure where the abortionists inserts a curved knife into the placenta and cuts the baby up into pieces before it is suctioned out.  Done in the first trimester.
6. Dilatation & Evacuation - An abortive procedure where an abortionist inserts a pliers-like instrument into the uterus.  The abortionist then grabs whatever part of the baby it comes in contact with.  Then, by twisting and pulling, the baby is dismembered, killed, and pulled from the womb.
7. DNA - deoxyribonucleic acid.  A nucleic acid that carries genetic information.  It consists of two long strands of genetic information arranged in a helix.
8. Egg - the round reproductive body of a female.  Ovum, gamete, 
9. Embryo - In humans, the pre-fetal product of conception from implantation through the eighth week of development.
10. Fallopian tubes - In the female, two thin tubes that extend from each side of the uterus, toward the ovaries.  They are a  passageway for eggs and sperm.
11. Fetus - In humans, the unborn young from the end of the eighth week after conception to the moment of birth, as distinguished from the earlier embryo.
12. Genitalia - external sex organ.  Genitals are the sex organs.
13. Infanticide - the killing of an infant
14. Parasite - an organism that lives in or an its host, feeds off of the host, and does nothing to contribute to the survival of the host.
15. Partial Birth Abortion - An abortive method

17. Placenta - an organ in female mammals that envelops a fetus as it develops and is attached to it via an umbilical cord.
18. Pregnancy - In humans, the state of carrying a developing offspring in the body of a woman.
19. Pregnancy Reduction - An abortive method of reducing the number of babies in the womb (twins, triplets, etc.) by injecting a poison into the heart of one or more of the babies while still in the womb.
20. Rape - the forcible act of sexual intercourse either by physical, emotional, or verbal coersion.
21. Reproductive Rights - a strongly slanted term used by the pro-abortion side that implies that abortion is a natural right.
22. Saline Amniocentesis - An abortive method where a highly concentrated salt solution is injected into the placenta.  The baby takes the salt into the lungs as well as swallowing it.  After more than an hour, the baby dies and the mother delivers the body a day or two later.
23. Sperm - a male reproductive cell.
24. Suction-aspiration - A hollow plastic suction tube is inserted into the placenta.  The strong suction tears the baby to pieces as it is suctioned out.
25. Trimester - A normal hu7man pregnancy is 9 months.  A trimester is a period of three months; hence, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters.
26. Umbilical Cord - the cord like structure that connects the fetus to the placenta and through which the fetus receives nourishment during its development.
27. Uterus - a hollow organ in female mammals that houses the developing fetus during pregnancy.
28. Womb - the protect and encompassing space in which the baby grows in the mother.
29. Zygote - the resultant egg after a sperm has fertilized it.
