Contradiction #47
How soon is "VERY, VERY SOON?" Bill said that on the return trip from hell, Jesus said: "Tell them I am coming very, very soon"...He sternly said it again: "TELL THEM I AM COMING VERY, VERY SOON" (23 Minutes in Hell, p. 37 - ALL CAPS are Bill's, not mine).
So Jesus supposedly informed Bill that not only is He coming, or that He is coming "soon," or that He is coming "very soon," but that He is coming "VERY, VERY, SOON"!! Can we know how soon "very, very soon" might be? We can.
The word "soon" is used 24 times in the King James New Testament, four of which are attributed to Jesus. What length of time do these Scripture allow for when they say "soon?" In every single case, it means "quickly."
Soon 1. "In the near future; shortly. 2. Without hesitation; promptly; as soon as possible. 3. Before the usual or appointed time; early...Obsolete Immediately" very 1. "In a high degree; extremely" (The American Heritage College Dictionary). So "very, very, soon" could mean: "In the extremely, extremely near future." Let's look at just the four times that Jesus used the word "soon," and see if He knew how soon "soon" is:
"...as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied..." (Mark 11:2) (Comment: "Soon" as Jesus used it here, was certainly not days or weeks later)
"And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away..." (Luke 8:6) ("Soon" as Jesus used it in this verse certainly is not days or weeks later).
"But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf" (Luke 15:30) ("Soon" as Jesus used it in this very certainly is not days or weeks later)
"A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow... but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembers no more the anguish..." (John 16:21) ("Soon" as Jesus used it in this verse, certainly is not days or weeks later)
Now then, how long has it been since Bill said Jesus told him that He was coming "VERY, VERY SOON?" Well Bill said Jesus told him this on Sunday, November 22, 1998. (23 Minutes in Hell, p. Xiii).
That would be back in the 20th century - twelve YEARS AGO!! Jesus Christ never told Bill that He would return "very, very soon." Jesus Christ never told Bill ANYTHING! 'Me thinks' that Bill Wiese is a lying fraud!
Contradiction #48
Bill warns others of trivializing sin that will send them to hell for all eternity. But perhaps without realizing it, Bill contradicts his own teaching which condemns even him to his own hell.
Bill says: "The truth is, if you have lied, then you are a liar...All liars go to hell" (23 Minutes in Hell, p.75).
On pages 76 thru 80 Bill says one can repent of sins like lying, and be forgiven, but I see no evidence of Bill repenting of all his lying books and lectures. As long as Bill continues his fraudulent teachings, his own condemnation is upon him.
Here is a simple example of Bill's flagrant lying.
Bill gives an example of how justice must be carried out by God by telling a story of a judge who fined his own daughter $25000 for a traffic violation: "The judge set the fine at the maximum - $25,000" (p. 76). When I wrote Bill about the source of this story, he wrote me:
"As for your second question; I gave a quote, as noted in my book. I wouldn't have those details. Proof of the Judge story is not the point. I was curious as to why that would be so important to you?" (Bill is about to find out why lying to millions of people is so important to me!" See entire letter on page 50).
The truth: Bill did NOT "quote" this story from the book he referenced in his book. I purchased the Book, More Than a Carpenter" by Josh McDowell where I found the story of the judge and the traffic violation, but Bill did NOT quote his story from McDowell's book. For starters, in McDowell's book, the fine was for $100 dollars, not $25,000.00! I wrote Bill because I knew he was lying in his book.
Bill says people are "...in the dark about the judge's ruling. They have no idea that they will end up in hell for crimes that they consider trivial" (p. 77). Is lying to millions and millions of people "trivial?" All I have to say to that is: "Thou hath said, Bill...thou hath said" - your own words condemn you:
"Out of your own mouth will I judge you, you wicked servant" (Luke 19:22).
Bill is a liar, and as long as he peddles his lectures and books on this damnable and unscriptural subject, he stands self-condemned by his own sins!
Contradiction #49
Bill says that not only can't you speak or communicate with anyone else in hell, but that you wouldn't know anyone and no one would know who you are: "It doesn't matter if you are somebody famous as no one knows who you are" (From an interview on TBN found on "you tube."
I guess Bill had forgotten that he uses the parable of Lazarus and the Rich man as being the literal hell that he visited. But there's a problem (a contradiction) in using that parable, and that is that everybody in the parable knew each other. Lazarus knew the Rich man; the Rich man knew Lazarus; Lazarus knew Abraham; Abraham knew Lazarus and the Rich man; and they were talking back and forth with each other.
Contradiction #50
Bill says that "God didn't make hell for man, He made it for the devil and his angels" (23 Minutes in Hell, Internet Video). Jesus said, 'Go and tell them about this place. It is not My desire that any should go there. Hell was made for the Devil and his angels" (23 Minutes in Hell, p. 34).
According to Bill, "deformed ugly creatures," "giant spiders," "abominable creatures," "13 foot reptilian creatures in human form," "creatures that stink 1000 worse than anything on earth," "snakes as large as locomotives," "creatures 1000 times stronger than any man," "creatures with bumps and scales and razor-sharp fins," "locusts looking like horses" "ignorant creatures with zero IQ," and "angels who left their own abode," all have reference to demons which are, according to Bill, the "angels" of the Devil (Matt. 25:41).
Chapter 10 heading: Dealing With the Demons of Hell. Bill quotes Matt. 25:41 as referring to "...the Demons of Hell" - "Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his ANGELS." So clearly Bill is teaching that "the devil and his angels" is referring to "...the Demons of Hell" (23 Minutes in Hell, p. 123).
"I was along side this pit of fire and I saw all these demons all lined up along the walls, all sizes and shapes of every kind, deformed, ugly creatures, you can imagine. They were twisted, deformed creatures, huge ones, small ones. There were giant spiders, huge spiders this big ( Bill gestures 5 feet tall) ...There are all kinds of abominable creatures everywhere and they seemed to be chained to the walls. I wondered "Why are these things chained to the walls". I didn't understand that, but there's a scripture on that in Jude 1:6 says 'And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day'" (23 Minutes in Hell, Internet Script, pp. 7 & 8.
Listen carefully: Bill says, "I saw all these demons...all sizes and shapes, deformed, ugly creatures...there's a Scripture on that in Jude 1:6 - "And the angels...He has reserved in everlasting chains..." Bill calls angels, demons.
Below are artist's renditions of demons - "Angels of the Devil." But where in Scripture do we find such a description of the angels of the Devil? Nowhere!
