When people think of religion, they very seldom link the topic with science. Some even consider these subjects to be polar opposites. These <em>proven</em> disciplines of science have caused many of the world's Christians to assume that evolution is also true. In an effort to &ldquo;sound&rdquo; Christian, Creation is fused with evolution to create a hybrid theory. Therefore, many of these same people believe all, or part, of the evolutionary theory. But these concepts are not biblical—nor are they scientific! Seeing this, many are confused.<br>

The result is a wide array of beliefs regarding evolution and religion. The Bible condemns homosexuality as a sin. Let's look at what it says. Lev. 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination."

Much of the basis of this thinking can be traced to the modern education system. Decades ago, a belief in God was not accompanied by ridicule and scorn. However, today, even insinuating that a Being had <em>any</em>part in designing the universe, and life within it, is met with fiery debate!<br>

Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their blood-guiltiness is upon them"

People have been indoctrinated with the theory of evolution from a very early age. Notice the official policy of the <em>National Science Teachers Association</em>:&ldquo;There is no longer a debate among scientists over whether evolution has taken place.&rdquo; Evolution is assumed to be true and taught as such. (To learn more about the theory of evolution, and the shaky pillars upon which it stands, read our brochure <em>Evolution – Facts, Fallacies and Implications</em>. It deconstructs this widely believed theory and shows what many disciplines of<em>science</em> actually prove! The full topic is too vast for this short article.)<br>

1 Cor. 6:9-10, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revellers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

However, the question remains: Can one <em>be</em> a Christian and profess to hold to all—or even some—of the theory of evolution? As those who follow Jesus Christ, must Christians believe <em>all</em> of His words recorded in the New Testament? And does the New Testament prove the Creation account in the book of Genesis?<br>

All buildings have a foundation. This is the base on which the rest of the building stands. Without one, the structure can be easily destroyed. Therefore, the correct foundation ensures longevity. Some may be surprised that the New Testament Church is built upon a foundation. The Bible states that the Church is &ldquo;built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone&rdquo; (Eph. 2:20). In construction, a cornerstone is the <em>first</em> stone laid. This verse indicates that Jesus Christ was established <em>before</em> the Old Testament prophets and reflects the many Old Testament prophecies foretelling His First Coming. This verse also has another very interesting aspect to it. The teachings in God's Church come from apostles <em>and</em> prophets.<br>
+

To believe this verse, one must at least believe the teachings and prophecies of the Old Testament. In fact, the New Testament points to the Old Testament much more than most realize. The apostle Paul, in particular, quoted the Old Testament numerous times. In the book of Romans alone, it was quoted 57 times! This is also true of the two epistles to the Corinthians. The first epistle quotes the Old Testament 21 times and the second 10 times. In light of Ephesians 2:20, this should not come as a surprise, since the New Testament is built upon the Old Testament!<br>

There are those who like to say that the Bible does not condemn homosexuality.

Various verses are sighted (out of context) and the verses that people use to show that homosexuality is wrong are explained away.

The world wants to change God's words and meanings into something more suitable to its sinful desires. Nevertheless, the truth stands.

The Bible condemns homosexuality as a sin. Let's look at what it says. Lev. 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination."

Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their blood-guiltiness is upon them"

Rom. 1:26-28, "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,

27. and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

28. And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper."

Homosexuality is clearly condemned by the Bible.

It goes against the created order of God. He created Adam and then made a woman. This is what God has ordained and it is what is right. Unlike other sins, homosexuality has a severe judgement administered by God Himself. This judgement is simple: They are given over to their passions. That means that their hearts are allowed to be hardened by their sins (Romans 1:18ff). As a result, they can no longer see the error of what they are doing. Without an awareness of their sinfulness, there will be no repentance and trusting in Jesus. Without Jesus, they will have no forgiveness. Without forgiveness, there is no salvation.

What should be the Christian's Response to the Homosexual?

Just because someone is a homosexual does not mean that we cannot love him (or her) or pray for him (her). Homosexuality is a sin and like any other sin, it needs to be dealt with in the only way possible. It needs to be laid at the cross, repented of, and never done again.

As a Christian, you should pray for the salvation of the homosexual the same you would any other person in sin. The homosexual is still made in the image of God -- even though he is in grave sin. Therefore, you should show him same dignity as anyone else you come in contact with.

However, this does not mean that you are to approve of their sin. Don't compromise your witness for a socially acceptable opinion that is void of godliness. note: All Bible quotes are from the NASB Bible

Do you have a ministry or a business Do you have a called of God ministry where your whole purpose is to "feed the sheep", and God supplies your needs, or do you have books, tapes, videos, etc. that you SELL for a "donation", or just outright SELL, and your buyers supply your needs?

There is nothing wrong with being in business and selling things. However, if you are a church or any kind of "ministry", you may want to check your motive for how you are conducting the work of the Lord.

Remember the money changers in the temple where JESUS turned over the tables and threw them out. They were selling things in the "CHURCH". (God made it quite clear to us that we were not to charge for anything, that HE was our source.)
