  How common is this complaint of the true Christian! <br />
  <br />
  What is the world? DUST! <strong>Its pleasures, profits, employments, honours—all dust!</strong> That is, they are . . .<br />
  comparatively worthless,<br />
  beneath an immortal soul,<br />
  unsuitable to a child of God. Yet . . .<br />
  our <em>thoughts </em>are filled with them, <br />
  our <em>affections </em>are entangled by them, and<br />
  our <em>graces </em>are weakened through them. <br />
  <br />
  Worldlings are at home in the DUST—they appear to be satisfied with it! <br />
  <br />
  But the Christian, when he cleaves to it most—is not at home, and cannot be satisfied with it. This is a mercy.<br />
  <br />
  My soul, rouse yourself from your lethargy; arise and shake off the dust of the world—and put on your beautiful garments! It is beneath your dignity to lie there in the dust! Treat the things of time as they deserve! <br />

  Heaven is your home! <br />
  <br />
  Holiness is your element! <br />
  <br />
  The King of kings is your husband! <br />
  <br />
  Glory is your eternal portion! <br />
  <br />
