  What a mighty God we have to deal with! <br />
  <br />
  And what would suit our case but a mighty God? <br />
  <br />
  Have we not mighty <strong>sins</strong>? <br />
  <br />
  Have we not mighty <strong>trials</strong>? <br />
  <br />
  Have we not mighty <strong>temptations</strong>?<br />
  <br />
  Have we not mighty foes and mighty <strong>fears</strong>? <br />
  <br />
  And who is to deliver us from all this mighty army,<br />
  except the mighty God? It is not a 'little God' (if I may <br />
  use the expression) that will do for God's people. They <br />
  need a 'mighty God', because they are in circumstances <br />
  where none but a mighty God can intervene in their behalf. <br />
  <br />
  And it is well worth our notice that the Lord puts His <br />
  people purposely into circumstances where they may <br />
  avail themselves, so to speak, of His omnipotent power, <br />
  and thus know from living personal experience, that He <br />
  is a mighty God, not in mere doctrine and theory, but <br />
  a mighty God in their special and particular behalf. <br />
  <br />
  Why, if you did not feelingly and experimentally know . . .<br />
  your mighty sins, <br />
  your mighty trials,<br />
  your mighty temptations,<br />
  your mighty fears,<br />
  you would not need a mighty God. <br />
  <br />
  O how this brings together the strength of God and <br />
  the weakness of man! How it unites poor helpless <br />
  creatures with the Majesty of heaven! How it conveys<br />
  to feeble, worthless worms the very might of the<br />
  Omnipotent Jehovah!<br />
  <br />
  This sense of . . .<br />
  our weakness and His power, <br />
  our misery and His mercy, <br />
  our ruin and His recovery, <br />
  the abounding of our sin and <br />
  the super-abounding of His grace;<br />
  a feeling sense of these opposite yet harmonious <br />
  things, brings us to have personal, experimental <br />
  dealings with God. And it is in these personal <br />
  dealings with God that the life of all religion consists.<br><br>
&quot;The Lord hears His people when they call to Him for help.<br />
  He rescues them from all their troubles.&quot; Psalm 34:17
