The fact that he was persuaded, assured, that what God has promised He is able also to do. 

Faith in God’s integrity and ability assigns God’s righteousness to us.

We are saved by God’s grace working through our faith. Our faith maintains that what God has declared to be true in the Scriptures is eternally true and reliable.
