Daily she would lead them in the game of reciting their memory verses. She depended upon rote to fasten the text of the Bible verse and its reference, but love of God and Mommy motivated the children to do their best. "For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little" (Isaiah 28:10). Speaking to my children today about their memory of these verses, most can recite many of the Texts still, but admit that they need the concordance search feature of their computerized Bibles to find many of the References. "Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee" (Psalm 119:11). She recorded 130 Texts with their References on ten 5" x 8" index cards, which I list here-- with a great deal of pleasant memories-- for the edification of any who would like the use these pithy Scripture Bullets for themselves or their children.
